In the News

In the August issue of Pilates Style, STOTT PILATES' very own PJ O'Clair shares her five step solution to eliminate back pain, and credits Pilates with providing the tools needed to maintain a strong back.  O'Clair points out the importance of a healthy spine and perfect posture, and provides five exercises on the stability ball that will promote strength and flexibility while decreasing back pain.

What does a Customized Repertoire Review involve?

A

A Customized Repertoire Review involves booking a private session with a STOTT PILATES Instructor Trainer to review basic principles, relevant modifications and / or any STOTT PILATES exercise updates. All 0.6 CECs (6 hrs with an IT) can be earned with a customized repertoire review. Please book repertoire review sessions with the Licensed Training Center CEC Coordinator to be sure your CECs are accounted for. Ensure you receive your CEC evaluation form from the IT to send to STOTT PILATES along with the CEC submission form to prove your attendance.

Exercise of the Month


Spinal Rotation targets abs and opens front of chest

WARM UP FIRST

Remember to start every workout with a warm up.
Read these important cautions. For a detailed description of warm up exercises visit www.stottpilates.com/warmup.

STARTING POSITION
Lying on side with hips and knees bent to 90 degrees. Bottom arm supporting head, top hand resting on mat. Spine in a neutral position, neither arched nor flattened.

1 INHALE
Keep top elbow bent and lift arm to ceiling.

2 EXHALE
Rotate torso backward keeping hips still.

3 INHALE
Stay.

4 EXHALE
Keep top elbow bent and return torso to starting position.

Complete 3-5 repetitions on each side.
