The Studio
We currently have three fully equipped studios in the UK (with more planned), one is in Oxford, another in Southampton and the other in Central London. All studios are branded as 'Active Pilates' and are also open to the public for classes in-between the training courses.
Instructor Trainer
We have a number of STOTT PILATES Instructor Trainers working with us at our training facilities in Oxfordshire, Central London and Southampton, please see below for more information:
CAROLINE MURRAY is one of our Oxford based STOTT PILATES Instructor Trainers along with Judy Amira. Caroline comes from an athletic background with 15 years experience in personal training and fitness class instruction including aerobics, circuits, step and body conditionining. In 2003 she trained and qualified in Sports Massage Therapy and has been able to incorporate this therapy knowledge into her pilates training.
Caroline completed all of her training as a STOTT PILATES instructor at the Oxford studio through Active Training and has been teaching mat and Reformer classes since the outset. Whilst teaching the STOTT PILATES courses and workshops she still enjoys teaching her public clients.
Working freelance, for Active Training, AMANDA KITCHEN is certified to train students in Intensive Mat-Plus, Reformer, and Cadillac, Chair & Barrels up to and including their examination to become a certified STOTT PILATES Instructor.
Coming from a fitness instructor background, Amanda combines her teaching of STOTT PILATES with a successful personal training and sports massage business. She trains both one-on-one clients and group sessions either from her own studio in Kew (West London) or from the client's own home.
ALISON SALMOND has worked within the fitness industry for 22 years. During this time she has worked in health clubs as a fitness instructor and personal trainer. Whilst doing this Alison also found time to go back to her studies to acheive both her Certificate in Education (PCET) and a Masters Degree in Exercise Science.
Alison works as a Curriculum Manager within YMCAfit developing and delivering a range of instructor courses and also working as an assessor. Alison regularly presents STOTT PILATES workshops at YMCAfit weekenders and even fits in some personal training.
She loves outdoor exercise and in 2005 completed her first (and last!) London Marathon. You can often find her on Hampstead Heath running with her Springer Spaniels at 7am! Alison completed all her STOTT PILATES training within the UK, finally completing her Instructor Training course in Toronto a few years ago.
CHRISSY CONNELLY is our latest addition to the STOTT PILATES Instructor Trainer Team at Active Training having completed her training in Canada in 2007.
Formerly a member of the British Olympic Windsurfing Team with 3 world titles and many national titles under her belt, Chrissy enjoys working with many clients from rehab to international sports people. A qualified personal trainer and sports masseur Chrissy works with clients to rebalance posture, facilitate injury prevention and rehabilitation as well as improve general strength, flexibility and fitness.
Chrissy is based in Hampshire and works alongside physiotherapists and sports masseurs with a well equipped STOTT PILATES studio and teaches group classes as well as one-on-one personal sessions. "The most enlightening time for me was discovering how much STOTT PILATES can help everyone to achieve their goals no matter how small or great they are. I really enjoy helping clients and students 'grow' using the method which instils greater self-confidence and motivation for many as well as health benefits".

NOTE REGARDING EXAMS
You are not obliged to write (and pay for) two exams if you are planning to take both courses. You may choose to wait until completion of the second course to write your exam (a combined Matwork and Reformer exam). If you prefer to pause between courses, you may choose to take an exam to become certified in Matwork only, and another exam (a combined Matwork and Reformer exam) after completing the second course to become certified in Reformer work. In this case two exam fees would apply.
