Certification Exams
A written & practical exam is required for certification.
Candidates may take the exam up to six months after completing coursework.
Prerequisites
These intensive courses are recommended for fitness instructors, personal trainers, and health professionals. Applicants should have:
- 3+ years teaching fitness, dance, or movement
- Familiarity with Joseph Pilates’ work
- Formal anatomy training
- Knowledge of muscle origins, insertions, and functions
Required Course Materials

Notes Regarding Exams
Students may choose to complete a combined Matwork + Reformer exam
after both courses, or take individual exams after each course.
Taking separate exams will require two exam fees.
