The April 12th edition of the Washington Post included the article ?Something of a Stretch. Can Pilates make you Taller? This may set you straight.? Moira contributed to the article, which focuses on the benefits of regular pilates practice, especially for improving posture.

Bend & Stretch Knees - Targets abs & legs
STARTING POSITION
Lying on back on mat. Lower back flattened toward mat. Both legs lifted with knees bent and Flex-Band* exerciser wrapped around balls of feet. Hands holding ends of band, elbows bent at sides.
EXERCISE
To prepare, INHALE ...
EXHALE tighten abdominal muscles and straighten legs up toward ceiling. Keep torso stable and do not let back arch up off mat.
INHALE Keeping torso stable, bend knees to return to starting position.
Complete 8-10 repetitions.

How to hold the STOTT PILATES Flex-Band
It is important to keep the wrist and finger joints as neutral as possible when holding the Flex-Band.
Grab onto the band, or bunch the end of the band keeping the wrists straight. Avoid wrapping the band around the hands or bending the wrists.
When placing the Flex-Band around the feet, spread the band out to keep it from rolling into a thin cord.
